tv shows not coming in

Recently got service, streaming Directv service, no box. When swapping stations it will hang and say "Hmm, this video is taking longer than is should to load. Thanks for your patience". Sometime it will click on after a little bit, but many times either the audio will come on but will never display the video or it will just never load (waited upwards of 10 minutes).
It's not internet connection, as when we close out and open the app back up it works fine again with no loading. It's only when using the app for a long time.
