Too Many Streams

My Directv home is in Florida.  I have townhouse in NJ and was using Directv there which  was outside my home location.  Now I am back in Florida and getting Too Many Streams messages, it now thinks Florida is outside my home location.  I go back and forth several times a year so I don't want to reset Florida to home location.

Unless you are personally changing the billing ZIP code on your directv stream account to reflect the NJ address, directv stream should be able to recognize that your Florida address is your home location. What streaming device (s) are you using in both locations? Do you have a static IP address (one that does not change) at your house in Florida?

I am using ROKU and the Gemini boxes in both places.  I have AT&T fiber in Florida, and use a Xfinity box for internet in NJ.  I don't know about static IP address or how to tell if I have it or not.  I did not change my zip code for sure.

A little more clarity is needed. Are you receiving the message on both devices? Any other devices being used at the same time? You should not be getting the stream limit message with only 2 devices active.

I called support.  We had internet outage the other day (also AT&T) and I suspect when it came back it piced up a different IP address.  That Directv assumed was not my home location.  I reset the home location and no I am fine.   My problem is, I live in Florida and we have  a good amount of outages.  I know there is only 4 location changes allowed.  I hope this does not become a problem.  I was transferred 5 times to different groups.  My Directv is paid through my homeowners association so they could not find me.  I was told to ask for MDU support  to get the correct team.

You are right. You are only allowed to change home network changes 4 times in a 12-month period. However, you can enjoy up to 3 streams away from home. MDU support can be reached at 866.258.8766, as they take care of accounts like yours. Thank you for choosing DIRECTV. Jairo, DIRECTV Community Specialist
