Stream Gemini Channel Guide vs Satellite Guide

I had DTV Satellite for several years as part of a bulk package provided by my apartment complex. About six months ago the complex switched over to DTV Stream bulk service. In some ways Stream is better such as reliability. Weather no problem and changing channels is always crisp and fast -- almost like cable.

One thing I don't think I will ever adjust to is the Stream Channel Guide. It is visually good looking but that's about it. The Satellite guide has more information about shows and movies, such as the casts and Rotten Tomato scores. The Stream guide has some information but the show descriptions are short and  truncated, requiring several remote clicks to read the rest. It is nice that Satellite has a box on the screen so you can  continue watching the current show while in the guide. Not so for Stream. I don't even like the way Stream scrolls.

Why do companies so often try to improve something that already works really well? Yeah, I suppose some folks view this as whining, and maybe it is, but it kind of wrecks my viewing experience.

Maybe there are technical differences that require the use of different guides.

So, I actually do have a question. Is there any way to get the Satellite guide, or something very similar, to work on Stream? It seems unlikely but I have to know.

Unfortunately, the satellite Guide/experience is unable to replicated for DIRECTV STREAM. The only recommendation I can offer is using the DIRECTV Gemini Air to improve the remote functionality and experience. Moreover, the Gemini Air supports use of the DIRECTV satellite ‘remote,’ so you will be able to use the satellite remote to operate the directv stream Gemini air box. Other than that, this is the most you can get out of making directv stream a similar experience as directv satellite.
