Sound fluctuating using a soundbar

I'm using a Vizio soundbar with a Gemini box and have a continuing problem with the sound going up and down.  The soundbar is plugged into the TV's arc port and the box into the soundbar.  I have also tried the box in the arc port and the soundbar in a HDMI.  It's very annoying to have to repeatedly adjust the volume!  Please help!
