Series Recordings

I was a subscriber to DTV satellite for many years. Now I have subscribed to Streaming with the Gemini Air device. Its works great, but there are certain features that are missing:

1. I have created about five series recordings. But, there is no way to see what shows I have scheduled for series recordings. ie. If you need to review, or have forgotten what show you have scheduled, there is no way, except to perform a search. There should be a "Saved Series" section. This is very cumbersome, and should be addressed.

2. Not a big deal, but when you are finished with a show, there is no way to "Stop and Delete" Unless you revert back to the recording list and click the garbage icon. Again, not a big deal, but cumbersome.

I sincerely hope that the DTV tech team takes #1 into serious consideration, and rectify this issue as this in my opinion is a big flaw.

Thanx

JJK

The DVR feature is definitely missing some (many) desirable usability features.  Despite requests, there’s been little improvement since the DVR was added some 6 years ago.  We don’t know if they disagree with the feature requests or if they just aren’t springing for enough development resources to create them.  We can always hope, but it’s been a long time…

WRT your specific issues:

  1. A recordings manager is one that’s been long requested.  In the meantime, you can use the “Upcoming Recordings” button on the My Library page to show recordings scheduled within the next 2 weeks.  However, it only shows individual recordings - it doesn't indicate that the recording is part of a series recording. Also, if there are no episodes of a series upcoming within the next 2 weeks, nothing will show up there.  To deal with those problems, some people set a bookmark on the series to keep track of series recordings. Once you know the series to look at, you can go to the series page, which will show that a series recording is set. Not a great solution, but mostly workable.

  2. When you reach the end of a playback, it offers the option to delete.  At points in the past, you’ve been able to FF directly to the end, but recently I’ve noticed that it would stop the FF a little before the end and require you to sit through the last 30 seconds or minute to get to the delete option.  No idea if this is intentional or if it’s a bug.  And yes, a way to just delete easily without having to reach the end would be nice, but right now this is the best we have.

Thanx for your responses. I cancelled my Spectrum cable service last month, and returned a cable box with ten year old technology, and that box had a saved Series section! It bogles my mind why the DTV tech/development team missed this feature. We can only hope they will fix this soon.
