RokuTV volume issues
Volume goes up & down during commercials. To the point it is impossible to hear OR through the roof loud. Very disappointing. No other apps have this issue. We just switched from Xfinity, which also never had any issues with this same exact RokuTV. Why is there no support?

Yes. Their suggestion was for me to buy a new Roku stick to plug into a RokuTV. Or a Firestick. Neither option makes sense for a smart tv with Roku built in. And this tv is only 3 years old.

Okay, to be fair, I have found a workaround. I didn’t want to complicate the discussion with the additional info that I have an ONKYO receiver as well, but the sound stays even during commercials in “direct” processing mode on the stereo. Unfortunately this mode excludes the Atmos speakers in my system, but seems fine for TV watching with L/R/C speakers. And, I’ve reconfirmed that Atmos/surround works fine with Netflix, Prime, Max, etc. where it matters more for movie watching. It still seems like an issue that the DirectTV stream app doesn’t send the proper output on the RokuTV for the stereo to decode, but I’ll try an optical cable next just to see. Hopefully this helps someone else as this was frustrating and I really just now had the time to dig into it.
