"Resuming" A Show That Was In The Process of Recording When You Paused It And Turned Off The TV
Is there any way to do it? For instance, last night, I was watching a baseball game, live, that was, also, in the process of recording. There was an extended, rain delay, and it got too late for me, so I wanted to turn off the TV, but be able to "resume" the game where I had left off, the following morning. I experimented by pausing the game, turning off the TV, then turning the TV back on, going to My Library, and clicking on the icon. I, indeed, got the "resume" option, so I thought I had the solution to the problem. I, then, once again, paused the game, turned off the TV, and went to bed.
I got up the next morning fully expecting to get the "resume" option, but did not. Why did I get the "resume" option while the game was still live, but not when it was not still live? I routinely record baseball games, because I go to bed early. I watch them early in the morning, because I am, also, a very early riser. The method I have been using has been to note the timestamp at the time I turn off the TV and fast-forward to that point to resume, but I'm really hoping there is a more efficient method.
Please advise.

Thank you, so much, for your response. At least, I won't waste any more time trying to do something that is impossible.

Hi @SativaGummi thanks for sharing that information. When you're going to record a live game, you can pause and resume the recording. However, once the live game is done, we don't have an option to resume it. Visit https://www.directv.com/support/article/000093669 to learn more about DIRECTV Sports Team recordings.

I just tried it on a recording in my library, and it did not give me the "ways to watch" option.

I'll try again. I record a baseball game, every day. That one I just tried, I hadn't started watching, at all, because it was a day game and I had listened to it on the radio while I was at work.

It seems to happen inconsistently. Last night, I watched the first third of a baseball game and, while the game was still in progress, hit pause on the remote to display the progress bar, and turned off the TV. This morning, in My Library, no "resume" or "ways to watch" buttons, so I used my usual fast-forward solution.
It's not a huge deal, of course.
