Restricted Message on DVR
Sorry if this has been discussed previously, I searched and didn’t find much info. When I try to watch two specific shows on the dvr, I get a message saying “this program is restricted due to blackout policies”. They are two CBS shows, Survivor and Amazing Race, so not sure if something is still going on with CBS and Directv or what. It’s very frustrating and only happens with those two shows. I can also watch CBS and there other affiliated channels record just fine. Thanks for any help.

No, it’s not related to any issue between CBS and DIRECTV STREAM. Rather, it is related to the streaming rights of that specific show and streaming services like DIRECTV STREAM, for example. This same issue is happening right now with Rudolph which aired on CBS and was blacked out for streaming customers, especially on DIRECTV STREAM.

Thank you, so basically when I’m watching something “recorded” it’s not stored on my device like a traditional dvr, it’s streaming from the network platform via dtvstream? I understand the streaming part of live tv but didn’t know that was the case for recordings. It’s ridiculous because you’re basically forced to pay for paramount plus if you want to watch either of those shows.

The recording is stored on the 'cloud which is essentially directv's dedicated servers.
Even if you watched these shows live on CBS they'd still have the blackout error, so it's not related to the cloud Dvr.

Survivor and Amazing Race should not be "restricted".
