Recording playbacks Sound cuts off with new version of Directv stream app and Samsung TV
Ever since the new version of the app came out I have had issues with the sound when playing back recordings. The recordings will start off fine with the sound although in non HD and then clears about 10 sec later which did not happen prior either. However; the sound just stops like 15-20 sec in on almost all recordings. I have found a work around although its annoying. I stop the recording, go to another recording play it for a sec, stop it, go back and resume the original one that had the sound issue and then its fine. So consistently it seems that the first recording that queues the sound has a bug and when I do what I have been doing the second recording clears the bug and then the reload of the first recording works. Sounds like a bug in the new app that needs looked at or its a bug with Samsung TVs and the new app ? Only thing I can think of doing is uninstalling and reinstalling the app which I can do but first wanted to hear some feedback on this issue, thanks.

Samsung's DirecTV app has always had issues. You'll have a much better experience with a Roku, FireStick, Apple TV, or DirecTV Stream box.

I have the same issue. It is apparent that the Directv app for Samsung is full of bugs. I have 5 Samsung smart tvs and they ALL have issues with recordings. Not only are there problems with the sound as you described (I use the same work around that you do), but when watching a recording, it will often stop it's own and restart at the beginning. I then have to fast-forward to the point I last saw in order to complete watching the show.

Yup. Like I stated earlier, the Samsung stream app has always had issues.
