Recording On demand programs

I switched from satellite a month ago and use the Gemini air remote. I have adjusted to most of the changes in the way the different transmission process works. 
but I have a question about recording on demand programs. Why is it that when I find a movie or tv program or a series I cannot immediately record it to watch it later? For example, I searched for the James Bond movie Spectre. When i pulled it up it offered me the choice to record it but it doesn’t record for like 6 days until it is next broadcasting live on a channel? I’ve had this happen with the series House of the dragon. I had to wait three weeks for it to record. Isn’t on demand also on record demand. Am I missing something please .
