Problems with sound on Roku

I see many forum posts about the same problem I am having after having signed up for your service.  I have had my Roku units for a couple of years now and never have had any problems with sound until and only using your DirecTV Stream app.  I get chirps, moments of silence, volume changes just to name a few.  Most of this as a sound engineer I recognize as being a problem with the integrity of the stream itself and not the equipment.  Just the same,  changed to other Roku players and other new cables connecting them.  I saw the steps you were sending people to in your other responses and I have done all of those to no avail.  When are you going to fix this problem?  My wife is about to kill me so if there isn't a resolution to this soon, I'm afraid I'm gone after only being a customer of yours again for a mere two weeks.  Again, I have NO issues with audio on ANY of my other Roku channels or Roku equipment.

What's your audio playback device?  TV's audio? Soundbar? AV Receiver?

I notice this issue occasionally with the Roku connected to my older Sony AV Receiver when using the DirecTV Stream App. It does not happen with the Roku connected to my newer Denon AVR. It also doesn't happen with the audio on my Roku Streambar, or the Roku's audio connected to my bedroom Panasonic TV.

An older Samsung surround receiver is what is being fed from the TV with a toslink cable.  Roku is HDMI to the TV.  I will check internal TV audio when the AV receiver does its thing next and see if that audio is still there.

I am having the same issue with the Roku/DirecTV combo. Random sound changes constantly. I can switch to Prime Video and watch a whole movie without any issues. But when I switch back to DirecTV stream, same problem again. I'm going to do a trial with FUBO. If no issues occur there, sorry DirecTV, I'll be gone!

This is a known issue with Roku models earlier than 2021. Especially bad on the older Express. My solution was to replace them with a new Roku model, the Express 4K+. No problems since.
