Press DOWN to see your recent channels. Go the F away!

How do I get this to go away?  It's on my screen and the only thing I can do is hit down to see recent channels, and hit down again, it goes back to the message, Press DOWN...!  Does Directv programmers even use their own product?  help!

What device and when do you see it?

I’m was having the same issue. Just received a new Gemini box (model C71KW-400), set it up and that banner was on the bottom and I couldn't get rid of it. I went and turned off the power saver option in the device preferences under settings and restarted it. That was based on something I saw on reddit. Once I did that it went away.

Didn't work for me.  Sny other ideas.  Okay, I was able to get rid of it by going back to "the recording" and accessing it via another "path." Not encumbered by that idiocy.  Or maybe I simply lost the previous channel some how?  Anyone else?

Start over!  But how to get to that, as I thought that I was starting from the begining.  I would like DirecTV NOT to start on anything!  Let me decide what I wish to watch, please.

XB70 what does this mean:

Okay, I was able to get rid of it by going back to "the recording" and accessing it via another "path."

Can you explain the steps you took?
