Our Local Fox Station has been out for over a year...

Using Direct TV Stream has been a huge disappointment, our local Fox station has been out for probably about 18 months due to some type of contractual dispute between direct TV stream and the local broadcasting station. We've received no update on the status of the issue, and when you select the channel to tells us the big ball game is available on Fox Sports, which isn't offered and Fox Deportes, which also isn't offered. Last year we couldn't even watch the superbowl because of this issue. I highly recommend you don't use Direct TV period of they can't resolve an issue like this in over 18 months.

Disputes happen with all services, both cable and streaming. Check the TV promise website to see updates to your local broadcasters. Also you might want to contact your local station to inquire on developments.

What station?  I'm not aware of any 18-month contract disputes.

This is due to the long ongoing dispute with Mission Broadcasting, which is also in litigation.

Our local Fox station KLJB (Quad Cities Iowa/Illinois) has been off the air on DirecTV for at least 18 months now.  Zipcode 52803

@Juniper .  Thanks, I was just responding because the other posts in this thread seemed in disbelief that a local channel would be off the air for this long.  I bought an antenna so that I could watch the last 2 super bowls.  Frankly at this point I don't really care if our local Fox station returns to DirecTV.

Posting so I can subscribe. I am the same boat with Mission Broadcasting and my local Fox affiliate WNAC.

I am in Nacogdoches, Texas. DirecTv has not had our local Fox KFXK channel 51 for 3 years now. I just wasted 45 minutes talking to a DirecTv person who was clueless as to why they did not offer the local Fox channel in my area. DirecTv has removed channel 51 from the lineup on the screen. Channel 51 is no longer there to click on just to be told that negotiations were happening. AT&T doesn't not care for me as a customer. I have been a DirecTv customer since 2007, and a house phone customer since 1983. I recently switched my cell phones and internet from AT&T to Tmobile for much better service at a lower cost. I looks like it is time to ditch AT&T completely.

AT&T and DirecTV are 2 separate companies, although they are a majority owner of DirecTV. There are many options available. Just verify the whoever you pursue they offer the content you want. Good luck in your adventures.

We haven’t had Fox for 2 years now or longer (KLJB Quad Cities Illinois/Iowa). It doesn’t take that long to negotiate a contract. We pay every month for a package that is to include all local channels and like I said we haven’t had Fox (channel 18) for over 2 years. AT&T/Directv should be able to be sued for not providing what we are paying for. Not only do we not get the Fix service but we don’t get a discount on our package or a refund. If you call them they tell you to buy an antenna. I’m tired of the (Edited per community guidelines) they tell us and promise but don’t deliver. If I missed $5 of my payment every month I’m sure the would legally be able to get that from me or discontinue my service

i have not had fox since oct 2022 so no nascar, baseball, football,  and now i have no espn, abc, sec network   and saw an ad where directv said sign up for sling tv or fubo tv and you can watch sports   (Edited per community guidelines)   i'm already paying directv and now they expect me to pay for another stream to watch what i'm paying them for   i would have canceled but they had already renewed mine on sept 1st  but i bet i don't pay them oct 1st     no fox and no espn is last straw

I too dealt with the never ending blackouts with DirecTV. I WAS a loyal customer for 12 years because their customer service was always fantastic. They always worked with me for package discounts and what not and did everything they could to get me to stay. However, that all changed in October of 2023. At that point my local Fox station (WNAC FOX/Providence) had already been blacked out for a year. I decided enough was enough and called to cancel. One of the reps roped me back in with massive package adjustments to reduce my bill by over $30 and told me it would be guaranteed for the year. That "guarantee" lasted all of ONE month and the price went right back up. After calling them and them denying giving me the discount back I abrubtly hung up. Some time when on until recently my local fox statiom was removed entirely and all my ESPN channels were blacked out. That was the last straw and I called and cancelled immediately. Switched to Fubo and haven't looked back since. I understand EVERY provider has blackouts and contract negotiations. However, they became all too commom with DirecTV and little was done to rectify it while their high prices remained. I recommend looking elsewhere for service. Hope this helps!
