How to Stay logged in on a TV (Samsung)

I'm new to Direct TV stream and have to log in each time to the app on my Samsung TV which is a pain.  Does anyone know how to stay logged in to the app on the TV?

Thanks,

Frank

Are you logging out or exiting the app when you finish watching?

No, I just shut off the TV.  It works fine with Fire Stick and Roku, but I believe the power never goes out on there.  Might different since I'm running on a Samsung smart TV and when it goes off, all power is off.  I'm just hoping there is a setting that I'm missing somewhere.

Thanks.

The setting, if any, would be on your TV. The app has no setting.

When I used the app on my Samsung TV I only had to log in once.

@Ludwick577 thanks.  I have only been on it one day and have a long user name and password, so hope it was just a fluke.

Hi @MBRecon, thanks for reaching out to us.

Here are some steps to stay logged in the DIRECTV STREAM app:

1.Go to your account overview.
2.In the My streaming devices area, select Manage.
3.To disable auto sign-in, change the selector from On to Off.
4.Follow the prompts to complete.

We also recommend to factory reset your device after disabling auto sign-in.

Let us know how it goes, we're here to help!

@DIRECTVhelp this is on a Samsung Smart TV and couldn't find that option when I initially researched this.  Account overview doesn't have the option you mentioned.  Thanks.

Thank you for confirming @MBRecon.

Can you please let us know what you see displayed when accessing the account overview option in the app?

So we can review the steps to proceed properly, thank you.

That option under my streaming devices is only if you have a Directv stream box. MBRecon is using the Samsung Tv app.

I am having the same issue. It is more than annoying! Please help us find a remedy for this. I just switched to DIRECTV stream from another streaming platform because the service was terrible but I’m loving DIRECTV stream but I do not want to have to login every time I turn the TV on.

@ann_mccannon I gave up and just got a $30 Roku, but do agree it would be good to fix.  My email login and password are long and complicated.

@ann_mccannon What device are you using? What troubleshooting steps have you taken?

The remedy is buying an external device. Samsung tv app is really bad. Best device: Dtv stream box which doubles as an android tv box with google play store. U can get it on the Dtv stream website for 5 bucks a month until you own it.

I am having the same issue. My DIRECTV app is constantly logging me out. It’s at complete random times and not every time I turn the tv on and off. This hasn’t always been an issue and would only happen every once in a while. It’s getting to a point where I have to login multiple times a day. It will log me out while using the app on my Samsung tv.
My email and password are long and extremely annoying to have to login this often. I sometimes just go to a different app so I don’t have to do my login info.
It would be good  if I could add a shortcut for my login info. So if anyone knows how to do this please let me know.

Following in case someone knows, but I gave up on my TV and got another Roku.  You never know when those will die though.  Good luck!
