How do I record ONLY the NEW episodes of certain shows?

You will need to cancel your current recording in order to set it up for new episodes only.  Then you will need to record an episode when it goes to the recording set popup instead of selecting ok press record series then it will take you to where you can choose all episodes or new episodes then select the new episodes and you are all set.  Hope this helps.

The only problem is, it records episodes from all channels. Example, my wife records new episodes of Blue Blood, on CBS, but it also records all episodes on News Nation, which are old episodes. We are constantly having to delete them. This could be fixed by adding a settings to record from a single channel only. 

I have the same problem. I wish to record episodes from only the "primary" channel. I keep getting older recordings from secondary channels, even though I have used the setting for "New Episodes Only". DirecTV: Please let us make a finer selection for recordings!

I am having the exact same issue. Very aggravating. This seems like an easy fix. Come on DIRECTV and fix this.

Same issue here as well. Didn't have this problem with the DirecTV satellite service. Code sharing is caring.

The only way to do that---go into the guide and manually set the program to record.
