Fast forward on extended recordings

I just started with direct tv streaming. I record a lot of sports.  When a recording continues on after the original recording time, suddenly you can't fast forward any more, if you do, it bounces back to a specific spot and you have to watch some of it again.  For example if I record a baseball game and the original time allotted is 3 hours, but the game goes for 3 and 1/2 hours the last half hour I can watch, but not fast forward.  Is there a way around this?

I've never had this problem. Just recorded a Cardinals game earlier that extended and it fast forward into the extension just fine.

@Ktoll001   Did you have recordings set on the same channel immediately after the game's allotted time?  I have seen this when I stacked up additional recordings to make sure I did not miss the end of a sporting event due to going over the allotted time.

The problem is it does not happen every time I am in this situation so I have chalked it up to a glitch in the system.

I report this months ago. Same EXACT issue. Happens on all 3 of my 4K Fire Sticks, and 3 of my 4K Roku Sticks.

If I hit the FFW button, it advances as expected. But using the 30sec skip forward DOES NOT work.

Recently a new issue has started happening. (Did not have this issue from when I initially subscribed) Again on longer sports broadcasts. After I choose to play the dvr recording from My Library, the only remote button that works is the HOME key. And volume and mute. I cannot FFW through the pre show stuff.

This occurs on all of my Fire Sticks, and Roku Sticks.

One other unrelated observation: The Roku sticks are ridiculously faster than the Fire Sticks. Initial loading, FFW, skip, etc. All functions are super fast.

Loading the app takes me to the main menu in about 3-4 seconds on Roku. Loading the app on Fire Sticks take 15-20 seconds.

If I want to FFW from the beginning to the end of a game on a Roku, it takes less than 30 seconds. On a Fire Stick, it takes several minutes. Very jerky too as opposed to the Roku.

Interested in your comments and observations!
