Extend Time for Sports Recordings

I continue to have my recordings cut off before games are finished.  Is there a certain method for recording or getting the recording to extend?  It does work sometimes - but falls short quite a bit.

Does it help or make a difference if recording "season", "team" or single event?

Thanks

Always record the next programming after the event. Extended recording is not reliable with the service.

Hey, @Ed55. Sports recordings are automatically extended if the content streams beyond the scheduled time. This is limited to supported leagues and events, and it is contingent upon third-party recording service availability. @bcbsncjlj is right - you can record the next programming after the event to ensure you don't miss any action if the game goes into overtime. Thanks - I do try to record the next show at times - but finding what show it goes with and the respective recording is not a simple task but I hear you, it is a work around.  I have to believe that there is so much storage waisted by direct tv customers for many reasons like this due to poor direct tv management of recordings and/or systems.
