Do Not Signup for Directv!
If I could give zero stars I would. I let AT&T talk me into trying their internet air service with Directv stream. Things were fine during the trial period. After that, my internet speeds slowed down and then a nearby tower went down and wouldn't be fixed for 3 weeks causing work issues since I work from home. It cost me $450 to get out of the contract. The stream service was terrible and difficult to use anyway... went back to my wired in cable service that has worked perfectly for the last 24 years.
They said they sent me an email with the contract but I have no record of receiving this email from them. If I had known there would be an enormous cancelation fee, I never would have agreed to using the service. Directv needs to be investigated by the FCC and forced to refund their ridiculous fees.

If you would of researched before you subscribed you would have seen there was an early cancellation fee. It is nothing that is hidden.

If you paid to get out of a contract then you did not subscribe to DirecTV Stream but DirecTV Via Internet. The 2 services are not the same and require a paid subscription to each. DirecTV Stream has no contract or fees. It's bring your own device. DirecTV Via Internet does have a contract and fees.

Here's my gripe... AT&T signed me up for Directv Stream with no mention of a 24 month commitment or a cancelation fee. While there might be a contract I agreed to, my eyes are not good enough to read even the regular print yet alone the fine print. And, there's no good reason they need to have this policy in place. It doesn't cost them anything at all for me to start or cancel their service. It's nothing more than a way to take advantage of customers....shame on them!

Shame on you for not doing your homework in advance, no matter who the provider is.

They provided me NO equipment. I had to use the stream service on my smart TV via my internet provided by someone else. I did ask about cancelation fees and was told there were none but that was obviously not correct.

Obviously, if you are paying a cancellation fee. You need to verify exactly what service you subscribed to: DirecTV Via Internet or DirecTV Stream. As previously noted, DirecTV Stream has no contract or fees, but DirecTV Via Internet does have a contract and additional fees.
