Disabled autoplay, but it autoplays

I'm running in a browser on my laptop.  I go to https://stream.directv.com/library .  That is now broken, it reverts to https://stream.directv.com/watchnow.  This is annoying, but not the worst.  The worst is that it starts playing.  Wait, no.  That's not the worst.  It starts playing the network that is playing the sporting event that I'm trying to watch from the beginning with it unmuted so that the game is ruined by the announcement of the results.

So, three bugs in one (I'm sympathetic as a software engineer but frustrated as a user):

1) Going straight to the library stopped working

2) Telling the application not to autoplay stopped working

3) Telling the app to start out muted works sometimes and not others.

I will add that I can't figure out a way to make it at least start on some other channel.  This would go back to simply very annoying rather than "ruined my night".

Never heard of the "library". The correct URL is the "watchnow" URL. Turn off autoplay is available from the settings as in the mute. Unfortunately, most of those settings are only available for mobile devices like a phone or tablet.

If you look across the top of the screen, there are four tabs: Watch Now, My Library, On Demand and Guide.  When you click on My Library, the URL is /library.  However, if you go there directly it refuses to go to "My Library" and instead goes to "Watch Now".

And, yes, I've set the settings and it ignores them.

And, yes, it used to work.  These are new bugs.

And I forgot to say "thank you for trying to help".

Okay, it looks like the forum is buggy, too.  Sigh.

Let me try to send my response again, but also save it so if it gets lost I can try again.

1. The "library" is from the menu at the top of the screen with "Watch Now", "My Library", "On Demand", "Guide".  If you click on "My Library", the URL ends in /library, but if you use that URL it does not work.  It redirects to /watchnow.  It used to do the right thing.  This is a new bug.

2. Yes, the webapp has a "Preferences" menu that has "Play Live TV on Launch" and "Mute Audio on Launch".  The former used to work sometimes and the latter used to work always.  Now they both don't work at all.

Thanks for your response.

Just load the app normally and go to the content that you want.

I don't understand.  As @lstravin and I both said, we go to the directv URL and it starts playing and doing so is bad as it can (and has in both of our cases) revealed information that ruins what we want to watch.

What does "just load the app" mean?   Are you thinking that I am running on Android or something?  I'm using a computer and so there is no "app" in the sense that most people mean it (technically, web sites like this are often called a "web app", but I don't think that's what you mean).

I hope that I'm not sounding argumentative.  I'm hoping that you have some workaround to the bug and I'm just not getting it.

Referring to the URL to load library. Not all options are available for all devices. As stated previously, most options are for mobile devices. You can experiment with the settings to determine if they work for you.

/library automatically redirects to /watchnow.  At least it does in my browser (current version of chrome).  Are you saying that you have a browser where it doesn't?

No. I have never used the /library. Always used the documented /watch now.. it it don't work, I don't know. No big deal. Just select the library once the service loads.
