Directv Stream with Bally Sports Southwest
I’m considering changing my DVRs to stream with cloud dvr.
I watch a lot of Bally Sports Southwest. With the stream and cloud dvr and if I’m traveling, can I watch live or recorded sports at remote locations or on a plane?
Thank you

Hello @birthj, thank you for reaching out.
There's not an option to stream content while you are on a plane.
You can play recorded content from within My Library when you are outside of Home while you are on land. Remember that you cannot record/schedule a recording of your local/Regional Sports channels if you are not within your home zip code.
You can only schedule/record local programming of your current location since the mobile devices use the Location Service to provide Local and Regional Sports Network channels.
Please let us know if you have more questions, we will be happy to help.

I have another question on Directv Stream concerning this. My current property has four structures all with Directv receivers. All the structures have a one WIFI signal using Starlink ISP.
If I move to stream, would all my structures be part of the home network and I would be allowed up to 20 streaming devices. Is this correct?

You are going to have issues with Starlink due to the changing IP address with the service. When it changes, the service thinks you are out of your homework. This issue has been discussed in the forum in the past. Suggest you search the forum and read up on the issues with services like T-Mobile and Starlink.

Thank you for your comments.
Unfortunately, since my location is a rural area, Starlink is the only high speed internet service provider available.
I’ll search for those issues concerning Starlink.

@DIRECTVhelp So what I am understanding you say is that your local sports market is not based on your actual physical billing address (aka your home - which would be your home market sport teams), but it is based on where you are at when you are traveling. Very odd and not acceptable as a sports fan trying to watch their home team. Am I wrong? And please clarify for @birthj about their issue with Starlink satellite Internet. Do you have a solution to this problem? I have a physical address with an actual DVR box, but I am allowed to watch most of my recordings anywhere, including on a plane with WiFi on the new Directv app. I have noticed that my local news recordings are not available while I’m outside of the house, but I’m assuming that is the same with sports programs on my DVR. I am allowed to schedule recordings though from my app outside of my home. Is that because my IP doesn’t change like the satellite Internet does? So is there any solution to somebody that lives out in the country where they have no local Internet service provider?

If you have a DVR box then you must have DirecTV satellite. This forum is for the internet DirecTV Stream service. It has nothing to do with satellite service. The 2 are totally different paid services. All recordings for the internet service is cloud based.

My bad @bcbsncjlj
Well I just verified that I can watch the Dallas Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles on my Directv App watching my local Fox channel while I am out of my home and using someone else’s WiFi an hour and a half away from my Directv box. So I guess I answered one of my own questions. 🤪

In my mind, I am paying to see my favorite teams. It should not matter where I am. If I'm paying, let me see my teams!

It not your decision. You get what they offer for your location.
