Directv Stream screen black with sound when computer is connected to dock with multiple monitors.
I use a desktop dock to connect my computer to multiple screens. When I am connected the directv screen is blank but the sounds still comes through. I have searched and it seems perhaps it has to do with the page thinking that I am re-streaming it because of the way that the dock works? if I disconnect the dock it works right away. I am using an HP DisplayLink 4k and the display link software. I tried multiple broswers, Safari, Chrome and Firefox.

If I am understanding correctly, you are using a DIRECTV STREAM device and connecting it to your computer via an HDMI capture card? Please confirm how the DIRECTV STREAM box is connected to your PC or otherwise desktop PC. What happens if you connect a cable directly from the DIRECTV STREAM box to the monitor (given that the monitor has an HDMI port)?

No, I am using a regular Web browser, logging into the service and trying to stream through the browser. I don't have any "box" in this mix.

unplugged.....WHAT I can't take a screen shot of it either??? Ok, so the page won't even let me take a screen shot of my own browser. But believe me, it works when unplugged. Is this related some how? Similar function?

I’d assume that the resolution being used on your monitor is incompatible with the DIRECTV STREAM website output, and therefore they are not compatible. First thing to do is try changing the resolution of your computer when connected to the monitor. Next, you can try using a different HDMI cable.

Probably an HDCP HDMI copy protection issue with that dock setup.

Sorry, I do not believe that it is related to screen resolution or my cable. I can use multiple different resolutions on my laptop screen, I can close the lid use separate cables and it works. It is the way that this dock operates. It seems similar to why I can't screen grab video. Something is preventing it when my screen is being observed.

When I plug in a windows machine to the dock that does not use display link (https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase) then it works fine. Something about MacOS and the way that Display link is "observing" the screen. What I would like to do is be able to bypass that somehow. What is it that is in the streaming service that prevents someone from taking a screen shot of a stream?
