DIRECTV Stream on Roku
We signed up for DIRECTV Stream right after Thanksgiving 2023. They came out and installed the internet and setup the Genie device. Checked internet signal in all rooms of house and said we had strong signal so no issues. Well we can o my watch DIRECTV Stream on the living room tv since it has the Genie connected. All others use Roku’s and have never worked. Many frustrating phone calls and finally found out that DIRECTV Stream has had an issue with Roku’s since Oct 2023. They said it is hit or miss of it will work for you but yet they continue to sell the service. They have no idea why or how to fix the issue. They ran through all the problem solving techniques and nothing worked. I even tried a Fire Stick and still didn’t work. They basically told me that they doubt it would ever work. Obviously we canceled and will now go to YouTube TV. Thanks for aelling a product that you knew had issues with half of your subscribers and not disclosing it.

Since you have moved on to a new service, I have no idea why you have posted other than to just rant. Obviously, you are not seeking any support from the forum. You have not provided any details to what your issues are other than "it does not work". I have had the service since 2016 using many and most all the devices - yes it does work! I am a full time RVer and use the service all over the country. Currently sitting in a Cracker Barrel watch a basketball game using the service with a Roku 4K device. I also have Sling TV and YouTube TV. Just be aware that all streaming services have some technical issues.
Do you want to provide details what your problems are? Any messages or error codes?

I did provide in a forum on here 22 days ago and no one responded to provide any help. There are no errors and only message that has been the same since day one is “unable to load content at this time so please try again later”. The DIRECTV Stream technical support personnel have all said that they have tried everything and can’t get it to work. They actually recommend canceling service since they couldn’t fix the issue.
You may be one of the lucky ones where you never had an issue but this is a known issue by DIRECTV Stream since Oct 25th, 2023. I would love to have DIRECTV Stream if they could get it to work. Like I said I even tried Fire Stick. No errors or messages on that. It ask me to sign in and then it doesn’t recognize my account and wants me to select a package. My account is still active until Jan 22nd so if someone has a magically solution I would keep the service.

Why did you start a new thread? You need to keep your comments in the same thread, so members can follow and help if possible.
What troubleshooting steps have you attempted? Tried on your phone or PC? Re-installed the app? Restarted your modem and router? Are you a previous satellite subscriber? Using the same credentials? Do you have any accounts linked to AT&T?

Have tried everything you mentioned. Works on phone no problem. User name and password are not linked to any other accounts. No accounts linked. Reinstalled app, rebooted router and modem. Never satellite subscriber. Many other thing with technical support and still doesn’t work.
I started new thread because I got ZERO response on the last one where I stated all this already.

Restarting a new thread results in the asking of the same repetitive questions. Phone using your Wi-Fi or cellular? How old are your Roku and Fire Stick devices?

Do you really mean "Genie" or "Gemini"? Genie is for DirecTV Satellite.

Roku and Fire Sticks are brand new and the newest generations. I tried older ones also with the same results.
I really don’t watch on my phone but I know it works on my WiFi.

That is good to know. With the Gemini and phone working, at least we know your account is valid and not causing issues. Now to figure out the Roku and Fire Stick. Are the units relatively new? Do you know the models? Also, have you tried swapping the devices to see if they work? You know the Gemini works, so if you test the Roku and Fire stick on the TV, do they work?

Restart Directv app, check for updates. Does Roku work with other channel, Prime, Netflix etc?

I have switched the Roku devices and got the same result. All other apps work just fine on the Roku’s.
My service is still in. My pay period ends Jan 22nd so if I can’t get this to work, that is when I will cancel.
