DIRECTV STREAM and Google Assistant Troubleshooting
Google Assistant Not Responding
- Make sure to speak after the lights are solid blue
- Use the remote like a microphone when speaking the command
- Speak clearly – Google Assistance may not recognize the command
- Background noises may affect recognition of commands
- The command may not be supported
- Commands must be spoken within 6 seconds or the system times out
Supported command Examples:
“Tune to ABC” | “Search action movies” | “What is on now?” | |
“Open DVR” | “Open Settings” | “Pause” | |
“Play” | “Search Ryan Gosling” | “Movies with Jeff Goldblum” | |
“Search drama movies” | “Search for The Dallas Cowboys” | “Search for The Kansas City Chiefs” |

You must be signed in to your Google Home account via the DIRECTV STREAM Box to use smart home devices using Google Home.
- You must have compatible Google Home Devices.
- Select a device you have for step by step instructions on how to set up.

I'm simple. the voice control sends me to youtube and other streaming channels out of greed. All I want is to watch an NBA game that is airing and it will not send me there, instead kicks me to streaming and pay sites. At least with Cox you can say oklahoma city thunder vs warriors and viola you got it. not with direct tv. crooks
