directv issues with samsung tv.

Ever since the latest update to the Directv app my samsung tv has constant playback issues. When watching recorded programs, we can no longer use the 15 second rewind. If we do, it just goes back to te beginning. Also when fast fowarding we have constant issues where it goes back to the beginning or gives warning about the network being too busy.

My tv and internet did not change . it all started with the update of the directv app. I am about to cancel directv because of this. Has there been any progress fixing this app for samsung tvs?

The native app for the Samsung Smart TV has always been inferior and very buggy. It is highly recommended to use an external streaming device with the service.

Directv is already ridiculously expensive. I dont feel obliged to have to purchase a product to make Directv work correctly.

In general, many of us would recommend a dedicated streaming box (Roku, Firestick, etc.) regardless of your streaming service. TV makers tend to have minimum hardware to run those apps and are less incentivized to keep their firmware up to date as apps are not their main focus. The Samsung 'smart' TV app just has a notorious history of being sub-standard compared to other options even before this latest "update".
