Directv Gemini
Every day when first turned on you get audio but not video. I do a red button reset and I'm good for the rest of the day. System is 6 weeks old and on 2nd gemini box, both does the same thing. Wired to AT&T wifi system with ethernet cable.

Have you tried using a different HDMI cable? Had to change one out, a few years ago, that kept dropping video.

Tried a new HDMI cable this morning, same thing audio ok but video still not working, did red button reset then every thing ok. Just odd that you can turn system off an hour or so, turn back on and every thing is ok. But turn off overnight and you need a red button reset before it works proper.

Try unplugging your tv for a few minutes---that usually resets it --clears any glitches.

Concerning my Directv Streaming service, since my last post I have taken the time to try several suggestions, still my problem persist. A recap of what is going on. Every morning when turned system on you get audio fine but video is either a blank screen or freeze frame jerking video. Do a red button reset and it’s all ok. When turned off during the day turning back on some time it’s ok some time you need a reset to get video. Only one TV and receiver in one room. 1. AT&T has replaced the Gemini. 2. Have paired the remote several times. 3. Have tried new HDMI cable. 4. Have run system with Ethernet cable and or with Wifi, Am I the only one out there with this problem?

Here is what’s going on. I have had Directv Streaming with a Gemini for 10 weeks now. When I can get it started, I love it. 95% of the time when you turn it on you get audio fine, video is freeze framing or no video at all. System never buffers. Do a red button reset and system works fine until turned off for a while then turned back on, then another red button reset. Directv has replaced the Gemini and the remote, nothing changed. I have tried a different HDMI cable. Have tried with Wifi and with ethernet cable. Have talked with Directv streaming tech several times and nothing changes.

I've read and tried all the recommendations: resetting the Gemini, resetting the Directv box, checking all connections, etc, but finally found the solution that works for me--when first turned on, my video is always glitchy, but if I wait 5 minutes, it works itself out and is good all day with no problems. Since I accidentally discovered this "fix" it has worked every single time. So now I just turn on the tv 5 minutes before the program I want to watch and let the glitchy stuff work itself out through the pre-show commercials.

My final remedy to fix my on going problem was to hold the reset button in for a 10 count and when it came back I had to do a process like installing/reprograming a new unit. Works every time now.

I hit the reset, but then I had to reinstall all my apps and my remote stopped working. Now even my "fix" listed above (wait 5 minutes) has quit working. I am exasperated. I shouldn't have to reset my box daily. The one thing I haven't tried is unplugging my tv--because it hangs on the wall above my fireplace and is plugged into an outlet behind it. Which would require removing the tv (which I cannot physically do) to reach the plug, or turn off the power to the whole room at the junction box.

Finally, after days of frustration, I got a repairman to come to the house. He replaced the gemini box and the new one works fine.
