DIRECTV cloud DVR records basketball games on channels I don’t subscribe to instead channels I do
Denver Nuggets games are broadcast on the Altitude RSN as well as some dorky NBADEN channel. Altitude is part of my sub so the cloud DVR should record the Nuggets there. But nope, it records from NBADEN and tries to upsell me when I want to watch the games.
I’m bringing this error to Directv's attention to give them a chance to fix it before going legal. This bug has all kinds of legal defects.

Are you recording the games as a series or as individual recordings? What streaming device are you using to setup these recordings?

I'm attempting to record the team as a series. I set up this series recording from an Apple TV 4K and sometimes watch on a 4K Amazon Firestick.
As you know, the cloud DVR is very bare bones, lacking many of the features typically found in DVRs such as a working capability to record each episode once and only once and the ability to specify channels that should and should not be recorded.
I don't even know what NBADEN is, but I'm guessing it's part of some add-on package from NBA. I only got DirecTV Stream for the Nuggets, and it worked fine last season. If I can't find a fix for this bug I'm going to Fubo.

@bubbadude
If you don’t mind, try to schedule an individual recording from the channel you get in your package that airs the Nuggets. See if this individual recording works fine (it will require the cancellation of the series recording schedule).

OK, I've done that. Assuming it works, what do you propose for a next step? The next game is also carried on ESPN, BTW.

This would rule out the fact that the scheduler intentionally tried to record it on a separate channel that you don’t receive. If an individual recording of the Nuggets on a channel you receive DOES indeed record fine, we can assume that its inability to record the series recording is due to a scheduling issue. Some things to try include recording it directly from the Guide while on the channel number you receive that airs the Nuggets. You can also report the issue to official directv stream support, as they may be able to find the issue or provide any fixes to the series settings.

Yes, I'm on a chat with a DirecTV agent right now. Or was, 15 minutes ago.

I strongly suggest calling in as online chat isn’t always as effective (and sometimes online chat agents may unintentionally say the wrong things).

I get the impression that DTV Streaming isn't dedicating resources to improving the bare-bones Cloud DVR.

I tend to agree with this. They seem to be more focused on their DIRECTV via INTERNET product and its improvements rather than the DIRECTV STREAM BYOD service.

After choosing record game from Altitude, I now see that the ESPN airing is set to record as well.
