Direct TV Stream error message: "No Network Connection" -"Looking for Network Connection"

When opening DirectStream TV using the latest Apple 4K TV, we are getting the following error message on three of our TV's:  "No Network Connection" -"Looking for Network Connection" - This is happening almost every time we turn on a TV, yet there is no problem at all with our WiFi or with accessing all other apps including Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV+, etc.  The "fix" requires us to go into Apple TV and "Offload Direct TV" and then reopen the DirecTV Stream app (which takes 35 clicks on the remote)!  We have contacted Apple TV and ensured that all of our updates are in place on all three Apple 4k TV's and they have said the problem is on the Direct TV Stream side.

Have you checked to make sure that your Apple 4K TVs are on the compatible devices list for the Directv Streaming App?  These are the compatible Devices for Apple and iOS

Apple and iOS

Apple TV (4th generation)

Apple TV 4K (5th generation)

Safari browser (version 13+ is recommended)

iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touch running version iOS 11+ (iOS 12+ recommended)

If your TVs are not on the compatible devices list then you will continue to have issues with your Directv Streaming Service until you get a compatible device to stream your Directv Streaming service on. If your TVs are on the compatible device list then I would contact customer service (Phone # below) and tell them about the issues that you are experiencing.  Hope this helps!

I have an Apple TV 4K and I get “looking for network connection” error messages randomly when using the DIRECTV Stream app. When I delete the app and then re-download and sign in, the app then works fine. Really annoying. The Apple TV 4K is attached to router via Ethernet. No Wi-Fi connection problems with other devices (phones, computers, etc). Cannot locate a solution. All apps and software are up to date. Seriously thinking of dropping DIRECTV and switching to YouTube TV at the end of the current billing cycle.

I am also experiencing this issue on all of my fire sticks. The devices are up to date and this is the only app that does this.

What troubleshooting steps have you done? Have you restarted the device? Have you re-installed the app?

I have restarted app, restarted router, unplugged everything. I also spoke with Tech support who had me do everything all over again, including switching my fire sticks to different tv’s. This is the ONLY app that is having issues. My ticket is still open

I have been having the same problem with “No Internet Connection” or “No Signal” many times a day and it’s VERY annoying. All other apps (Netflix, Prime, Max) all work just fine.  What is DIRECTV Streaming services doing about this problem???

We experience the same problems! Apple TV and Ethernet connection. No other streaming services have this problem.

I'm getting no network connection and network congestion messages, and it's been ongoing without any resolution since December. The thing is, this mainly seems to happen only when I want to charge channels. I could watch one channel for half an hour for example and then conveniently, no network connection' when I go to charge channels. 

Network connection comes back on its own, I try to charge channels and again no network connection. Well there is a network connection if I'm able to watch something.

I have 3 Apple TV’s in my house in FL one in my office and three in a second home in TN. All locations also have smart TV’s and I have the same problem at every location.  I’ve deleted the app reinstalled it countless times on the TV and the Apple TV’s and it does the same thing. No other apps have ANY issues. It’s the direct stream App when are you going to fix it???

Experiencing this same issue on 4 different Apple TVs. Other streaming apps work fine. It is only DirecTV Stream that has this issue.
