Direct TV App doesn't play shows on Brand New Firestick Max 4k

Can you perhaps attach a picture? This is quite a weird glitch.

What happens if you choose Restart?

Nothing.  I can go to the main screen of Direct TV.  I can scroll through the guide, but it always shows the type of screen above for whatever channel it's on.  If I try to go to my library, it flashes, then goes blank.  The restart to me is like, do you want to start from the beginning of the show.

Have you tried another device like your phone or PC to see if the same issue occurs?

I can pull up the Direct TV app on my Sony and Samsung TV's.  LG won't allow the Direct TV app, so I need something to get it.  I could use Direct TV's Gemini, but the are $7.00 a piece per month.  So I went with the Firestick.

So the Sony and Samsung TVs plays successfully with the native app, correct? I use several fire sticks and have never seen the issue you are experiencing. Nor have I ever seen the issue reported by anyone. Does the issue happen on both TVs with the fire stick, or just a particular one?

Sometimes that happens to me if the guide is on the previous show (not the show on at the current time) on some channels. Make sure to move the highlight to the show you want to watch and make sure it's on during the current time. 

Direct TV App does work on both the Samsung and Sony TV's.  I have not tried the firestick on either the Samsung or Sony TV.  As for making sure the program is on the current time, yes.  I made sure it was on the current time the show was playing.

What TV is the fire stick being used if not that Samsung or Sony?

Would be curious if the issue goes with device to other TVs. If so, I would do factory reset on the device next. That is all you have left under your control.
