Continue watching history
Why can't you remove these. Or delete them? 2023 and you can't delete or remove your continue watching list? Catch up with Netflix!

The delete option is only available for DVR recordings and bookmarks, but NOT for shows that were partially or accidentally watched. It is a huge miss and is really annoying for something that could easily be fixed in a software update.

I think it was self explanatory. If you know anything about direct TV streaming you know that if you start or DON'T start a show or movie it's in the "continue watching" under the home button. There should be a way to delete these or clear them out. We have two shows no one has ever watched and they're on the "continue watching" list. We seem someone else mention the same thing in 2021 and they said only way to get rid of them is to watch the show to the end. Or turn off the autoplay for next program. That doesn't work. It continues to the next program any you're still stuck with all these shows/ movies in the continue watching. Why on heavens earth can you not delete or clear the history in 2023 on STREAMING? Netflix has the option to clear shows or movies you have started watching. Why can't you add this feature?

Unfortunately, expecting @DIRECTVhelp reps to actually read the posted questions, understand English, or know anything about the DirecTV Stream service often leads to disappointment.
With regard to your question: yes - there should be, and no - there doesn't seem to be (at least no one has reported a way that works reliably). You are correct that it doesn't seem like something that would be hard to do - adding an edit button is something that should work on all the devices. No one (out here) knows why they haven't, but there are a lot of missing features that seem like they should be simple to add. The only hopeful thing I can offer is that when AT&T owned the service very little seemed to happen in the way of enhancements over the course of several years, but a number of fairly significant things have happened in the year and a half that DirecTV has been a separate company. So perhaps a fix for this will come at some point.

The only workaround is to fast-forward to the end of the "Continue Watching" recording. Then it will be gone.

Thanks I've tried that but it don't work. Especially if it's a series. It goes on to the next episode and we're not going to watch 5 more seasons of 20 episodes+ with ads that are 120 seconds sometimes 160. Way too time consuming. Should be a easier solution.

Thanks Jrandomuser! I tried to ask a rep through chat with direct TV streaming last night and the guy thought I was referring to AUTOPAY! He kept telling me the same thing over and over again. Maybe if enough complaints come in about this issue they'll fix it. Seriously if Netflix has the ability why not a huge streaming service?! It's just down right annoying. But I really related to your post and very happy you understood where I came from with this!! But if you ever find a solution please share! Thank you again for your excellent reply!

I accidentally clicked on “Naked and Afraid” one day. Now it and its gazillion seasons are forever stuck in “Continue Watching”. Every time this shows up on the screen, my wife and my teenage kids make comments about what kind of perv*rt I am. So frustrating that there is no delete button.

I did find a way to remove my "Continue Watching" History last night. First I went to Settings and changed Auto Forwarding from On to Off under Preferences (not sure if this is actually needed but this is what I did). Then I went into one of the shows under "Continue Watching" and somehow found the "Info" button (I think after hitting Pause during Show). I then pulled up the list off all shows and went to the last show of the last season. After "fast forwarding" to the end of that show (and having to sit through some adds) once it completed it then dropped from the Continue Watching list.

I have the option now to hide my continued watching without having to actually watch, fast forward like I was doing. Best feature they've added!! Make sure you're software is up to date!

You guys just need to add a trash can when we delete things. My shows have been deleted by accident and they're gone!

@Streamingneedsupdated I have Build 3840103 and version 3.35 so what version do you have that allows you to delete?

No idea. I just know it's when I dvr/record shows I have the option to delete/trash the shows or movies. It's an inconvenience not to be able to restore them from a trash can when someone accidentally deletes them.
