Constantly freezeing
Ever since the new app my direct freezes up every commercial and sometimes during the picture. We have had direct for quit some time now and never had a problem until the new app came out. Now I am shopping for a replacement because direct has made it obvious to us that they do not care. The girl I spoke to pretty much told me happy shopping.

Sounds more like a problem with your Internet, not your device.

Samsung tv and century link. But again we have never had a problem until the new app so I don't see how the isp or streaming device could be the problem. None of my other streaming services have this problem.

and if it is my internet why does it happen every time it goes to commercial. All other streaming and gaming work fine. Its not the isp

There's an ongoing outage regarding this, and we're actively working to resolve it. Can you also provide the DIRECTV build and version of the app located under Settings?

If Direct is going to be this much of an issue. I think shopping for a replacement is my best bet. The price keeps going up and the service keeps going down. Time to move on.

beau758, Keep in mind that live streaming vs on demand uses more bandwidth. That can sometimes be why a live streaming will freeze up when an on demand doesn't. If your wifi signal is marginal, at your device, that will effect downloads between the different devices.
Also, I see you are using a Samsung TV. The DirecTV Stream app in Samsung TVs have been very buggy since day one. I for one have stopped using mine and gotten Roku and Fire Stick devices to use instead of the built in apps. If you have access to either, or any other device with a DirecTV app give them a try.

How that's quit the excuse being that I told you we never had a problem until the new app came out. It worked perfectly before. You are really making me feel heard. One more reason to switch. Also, I never said there was a difference between streaming live and on demand. In fact there isn't. Again, fantastic way to make me feel heard.

bcbsncjlj your intelligence is astounding. I don't know when there was a threat proposed. You must be super smart to find a threat that know one else can find. I even looked up Websters definition of a threat just to be sure I knew what I was looking for and I still can not find a threat. Not to mention this conversation has nothing to do with you so if you would have enough respect for me as a human being to not be so nasty and mean I will not have to report you as your post violates many rules. Such as bullying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
