Closed Captioning
I am new to DirectTV stream, Coming from U-Verse. I am trying to find a shortcut method for turning Closed Captioning on and off. Google Assistant voice is annoying with the pop up suggestions. Also going through the home button and menus to get to the option takes some time. I realize that these are minor annoyances, but coming from a single button on the U-Verse remote it would be nice.
Thanks

Hit the "ok" button on your remote---a popup appears below the progress bar to turn on cc/audio

We want you to enjoy your service in a comfortable way. Please follow the next steps to activate/deactivate Close Caption:
-Using the remote control, press OK, to display the video overlay.
-Press the down arrow.
-If needed, scroll left to move the blue line under CC/Audio, then press OK.
They are redirected to the Closed Caption Setting.
-Press the right arrow to move the blue line under English, then press OK.
-To deactivate, select Off and press OK.
-Closed Caption Setting may be changed if needed.
-Pressing the down arrow to move to CC Settings.
-Press OK.
-Redirected to Setting screen to make the desired changes.
Refer to Closed Caption Settings for the options available.
-Once they have turned on CC, press Exit to return to the programming.

Forgot to mention that…. I have 2 Gemini devices, one is a dongle and the other is a box. Both have the same remote and menu setup.

Thanks. Still a little more cumbersome, but it’ll do. Appreciate.

Why does Direct TV make it so hard to get to closed captioning? We shouldn't have to go through 6-7 steps just to turn it on or off. You really need to work on this. It's so frustrating!

If you have a Gemini device use your voice remote to turn it on. "captions on.....captions off"

No Gemini device, but I did read the post about pressing the OK button and going down to the CC/Audio that takes you directly to it. That is easier than the many step method I had been told about. I guess I'm spoiled because when I had a different cable company the remote had a CC button right on it. Thanks though.
