Cannot see program info

I have direct tv stream thru Apple TV. I used to be able to swipe/click the down button to get more program info, cast, more watch options, restart, etc. Down button no longer works. I cannot figure out how to get to this detail. Anyone else having this problem and/or a solution?

Hi, @Beckj34. We're sorry you're having issues navigating programming on your Apple TV. Usually, uninstalling and installing or signing out of the app and signing back in helps. Visit Fix Apple TV Viewing Issues | DIRECTV Support for more troubleshooting steps on Apple TV streaming issues. This is no longer working for me either.

I found a fix. I downloaded the latest update for the AppleTV. Then in the Apple TV Settings, I changed the remote to Click and Touch and now I can get DirecTV program information by swiping down on the touchpad on the remote. Unfortunately clicking the down button doesn't bring up the program information.

I also want to view actors/additional program information when watching thru my browser and can't. Fubo and YoutubeTV I believe have info icons (or similar) to bring up program description and actor info. I've tried Chrome and Firefox. Neither let me view detailed program info.

I just checked, and in Chrome (so I assume also in Firefox) I see the info button (an “i” in a circle next to the program name when you have the icon overlay showing). How much info is available varies - it’s generally less than from some services.

Thanks. I was referring to being in full screen mode on my laptop and there is no "i". If you mouse over the program name your mouse changes to a select "hand", but clicking on that, does nothing. I've tried now with MS Edge as well. HOWEVER, you're correct when you are on the "Watch Now" tab. On the "Watch Now" windowed view, I see the "i" and clicking on the program name does what we need it to do! It's certainly not optimum. Other streaming services, have an icon visible and clickable while in full screen mode...would love to see than in an update of DTV Stream.

I’ll have to see that - I’m not sure what you mean by full screen video mode.  Are you saying that when you see the video in the top of the screen while on the “home page” vs when you expand that to fill the screen?  I’ll try that on a PC - I checked it on an iPad in a browser, but haven’t watched in a browser on a PC (at least seriously) in years.

The upper image is where you can see the "i". It's a small window on the "Watch Now" tab, as you see. The bottom image takes up the full laptop screen, via the "arrowed" icon in the lower right. The "i" disappears and clicking the program title does nothing. Seems a very desirable fix/addition to DTV Stream, especially since YouTubeTV and Fubo offer it.

Oddly, I don't see it now.  Not sure if I was hallucinating or if there was something I changed.  In any case, it should be there (and I think it was at some point), so a bug, whether new or old.
