Cannot dismiss starz sales screen
When I turn on the tv there is an advertisement for subscribing to starz. The dismiss button does not work and I’m blocked from watching tv. I can’t find a way around this screen. I do not want starz, I want this advert taken out if my way. It’s been five days if this nonsense. Please help.

The screen has magically disappeared. There was no user oriented fix and no comments that helped. We can close it but be aware that there was no known resolution.

I think you will find this is coming from your TV. Use the TV controller to exit.

I can navigate the dismiss or subscribe buttons with the direct tv controller but neither can be selected. It’s definitely a direct tv screen and is controlled by that remote. Any other ideas?

What streaming device are you using? Does it appear before or after DirecTV Stream loads?

It happens as soon as you turn it on. You can hear the audio of the regular channel but you can’t see it. It’s like a facade that blocks you from the normal functions.

You never "opened" anything to close. This is a forum for customers to help other customers, not a Support venue (despite the occasional support rep showing up). Other customers were trying to help you, but you never answered the questions that people who were trying to help you asked. No one here could see what you saw, or apparently ever experienced that problem, or could make additional suggestions without more info than you provided. We're glad your problem is gone, but in the future if you have issues and want help, please provide info when it is requested.

I did provide the info and I’m well aware of what this is. You don’t need to be mean or judgmental. I was just hoping for help and wanted to let you know it went away without intervention. Given the reception from this so called community I won’t be posting again anyway.

The problem is back, this time with a Showtime ad. I am using the Derectv Stream box. Pulling the power plug clears the ad.
