Auto extend
Does the auto extend feature not apply to tennis matches and series recordings? I’m not certain it works as described when recording games using mobile app or FireTV stick. I don’t have a Directv stream remote.

@Norman53 the auto extend feature should work for all sports events via DIRECTV STREAM. How exactly does it not work as described? Please elaborate on what causes it to not work properly and on what programs or sports events does this occur?

Example Djokovic vs Nadal French Open match yesterday on Tennis Channel lasted longer than the 3 hours of scheduled time. I was watching from my DVR and recording ended after 3 hours.

Hello @Norman53 , thanks for sharing with us your concern.
We want you to catch up on all your favorite tennis games and not miss a thing. At the moment, sports recordings are automatically extended where content continues to stream beyond the programmer’s scheduled time. This applies to the NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA leagues, NCAA Football and Basketball (Division I), Soccer (UEFA, FIFA) and PGA Tour Golf. Here in the following link, you can find more info about DIRECTV STREAM recordings
We will forward your suggestion to a dedicated team that meets with subject matter experts across DIRECTV STREAM. They will review the suggestion and determine next steps.
If an extra hand is needed, let us know. We're here to help!

Thanks for the clarification. Tennis Channel is one of my primary reasons for subscribing to Directv Stream since YoutubeTV discontinued that channel. Tennis like baseball has no time clock and matches extend beyond schedule times with regularity.
Another frustrating factor with tennis is the inability to set a series recording for example all of the French Open. With coverage bouncing from Tennis Channel to Bally and NBC it is very challenging to set recordings without missing some of the matches. Any way to fix that?
Thanks,
Norman

There's a workaround .... Set a recording for whatever show is scheduled to air after the tennis match.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that didn’t work with Directv Stream on the tennis channel yesterday or today. I think it has to do with program naming conventions. The program ending at 6 pm ET and the program starting at 6:01 pm ET have the same program names. The gist is matches didn’t finish based on the allotted schedule time and ran over, but since the 1st program by the same name had already been recorded the next recording was canceled. I realize this may be a freak incident, but is a real problem with Directv stream for tennis fans.

Does DirecTV consider the DirecTVhelp response to this frustrating issue as adequate? It is not at all informative. It's been 10 months. What next steps have been taken?

If you are asking whether they consider the "help" reps to be useful - I'm afraid they probably do.
If you are asking whether they think saying "just record the show after" to be an adequate solution to this problem - it hasn't been 10 months, but about 5 years. No one "out here" knows why they have apparently found it impossible to add the capability to set manual extension on recordings, but that feature has been asked for since the DVR feature was added, with no action taken. The only comment from the DTV reps (and the AT&T reps before them) has been "record the show after and we'll forward the suggestion". I have some doubts about the latter part of that. They may or may not forward it, but it's clearly not accomplished anything.
