Audio prob with DirecTV Stream app on Roku

The DirecTV Stream app has a serious audio problem on Roku devices. I've experienced it on four different Roku + stream sticks and the Roku forum is full of complaints and questions. The problem is clearly unique to the DirecTV app.  Audio will suddenly drop in volume to nearly inaudible or get a lot of static in the audio stream just at random. Occasionally it will come back on its own after a time, but changing stations appears to fix it. It's terribly annoying to have to switch channels and switch back--often several times within a program hour. 

Fix the app to work properly on RokuOS or folks are going to get fed up and switch to YouTubeTV or HuluLive.

I’m not sure you understood the original post. There is no DirecTV Stream device involved, simply the app running on Roku. The problem happens on four different TVs, one Roku tv and three with Roku+ stream sticks. It’s not isolated to one piece of equipment. There are no sounds connections involved. This is a fundamental problem with the app itself not running smoothly on RokuOS.

I have the exact same issues on 2 different Roku Ultras. It is very frustrating that the sound randomly goes down to almost muted or gets very distorted and staticky. The help on your website does not address or resolve these specific issues with the app. The issues started when it was ATT TV Now and continued with DirecTv Stream. We have changed the HDMI cable and even bought new Roku boxes. The issue persists. Please provide a solution.

I have this same issue and don’t even use Roku. Just stream through app on smart TV. Sound constantly goes out

I am having the EXACT same DirecTV audio problems on ROKU! Driving me nuts. I even bought a soundbar because I thought it was my TV's audio crapping out, but I now realize that it is the Directv App on my Roku that is the problem. No other apps have any issues (Netflix, Hulu, AmazonPrimeVideo, etc). I also tried deleting and reinstalling the DirecTV App, didn't work.... Somebody from DirecTV please help!!

Unfortunately, DirecTV customer support is TERRIBLE!!! So I'm expecting a generic reply to my post telling me to try these "common steps to troubleshoot" or to " "create my own post". They are obviously just computerized responses from DirecTV, not real employees or technicians. I will be canceling DirecTV ASAP and taking my business elsewhere!!!!!!
