CBS
What is the situation with regards to CBS contract. I’m looking for another cable provider. This has gone on too long. Right here in the middle of tornado season we cannot get the most reliable and accurate weatherman.
Also, my cable freezes several times a day showing “video is loading”. What’s up with that?

DirecTV is a satellite and now a streaming provider as well (not cable).Which do you have?
What is your zip code? (The contract would be your local affiliate station that carries CBS, not CBS as a whole)

Griffin Media has temporarily blocked access to its stations to push for higher payments for similar programming. We've seen this before, and your patience can help keep costs down in the future. We appreciate your understanding as we work to reconnect with Griffin for our OKC and Tulsa customers. Visit https://spr.ly/61211B8XPRJ for more. Mark, DIRECTV Community Manager

Sounds like the normal (unfortunately) carriage negotiations.
Local affiliate owner wants more from DirecTV, which in turn would be higher bills. And that is from everyone, not just your area, as locals are spread over the entire consumer base not itemized. DirecTV (like most TV providers) wants a deal that is more reasonable so they don't have to raise bills further (no company can absorb the entire increase after all).
This happens again and again. You will not find another TV provider immune from this as they don't own the channels. My stance remains the same, why should TV provider and us customers by that extension (our bills of course) pay more and more for channels available over-the-air for free? I personally did not go to pay TV for my locals, but what my locals cannot provide. I get that is not the same for everyone.

As for cable freezing several times a day, that is another matter. It is from satellite in orbit, so extreme weather could be a factor. But in case something else, perhaps start a separate thread as your satellite TV freezing is unrelated to a local affiliate station negotiation.
