We couldn't set the recording requested
I just recently signed up for Directv Stream and I am unable to record any local channels. When I attempt to record a local channel, I get a message that says "Looks like something went wrong - We couldn't set the recording requested".
- After reading other posts on this, I'm sure that the problem is because my billing zip code does not agree with my location zip code
- I am a "snowbird" - I live in Florida for (6) months and live in New Hampshire for (6) months. My legal address is Florida and the billing address on my credit cards is Florida but the Directv installation is in New Hampshire
Is there any resolution to this problem with Directv? The obvious solution is that I could get a new credit card with this location as a billing address but I shouldn't be forced into doing that just to satisfy Directv.
Is there a

Thanks for your response - changing the location in settings doesn’t work. When I try to do that, I get a message that says, “You are at your home location - Your home location matches the one we have on file and does not need to be updated”.
if that worked, I think it would allow me to change my physical location to my billing location and that’s not what I want to do. If I did that, I could only record local TV in my billing location (not my physical location). I want to be able to record in my physical location.
I have found a solution to this but it is very cumbersome. Here’s what I did:
It now works but I hope that Directv can come up with a better approach for solving this problem.

Recording/watching local channels in your market while located in another market is not possible. Furthermore, watching channels in another market different from your service/billing address is also not possible. You would have to change your service address as well as the billing address to match your location.
However, since you only switch locations twice a year, you can follow these steps below to change your location:

That's not always true about watching your home based locals in a traveling market. It all depends on the device you are using. If you have a device that does not have GPS or location services, you will receive your home based locals as the default. I have used the service since conception and travel extensively around the country. I always get my default locals on devices like Fire Sticks or Roku. With mobile devices (cell phone, tablets, or PC) I receive the traveling locals. Currently, out of market now, but receiving home based locals in my RV. As for recording of locals, I rarely record, so I have little experience.
