Too many srteams

Dtv stream gives me a message that we have too many streams and we need to reset our home location. We've had Stream since October, have been in the same house, don't have Stream installed on any other device, just the three tv in our house. Despite this, we have no more home location changes left. The next time we get this message, we won't be able to get viewing back. It's only one tv this is happening on, but we still don't have any changes left. How can I fix this?

Hello @zouave33, we're always working hard to have our services working properly for you. Let us review your account to check why you are getting "too many streams" messages. I'll send you a Private Message to look over it. Santiago, DIRECTV Community Specialist

DirecTV Stream uses your internet IP Address to establish a "home" location. If your internet service provider changes that address too often then this can happen. You may need to request a static IP address from your service provider.

litzdog911, Do you know if they use the specific IP address assigned initially or any IP address that agrees with that geolocation information? For example, an ISP may change the IP because it is not statically assigned. However, it will still come from a pool of addresses that will indicate the same geolocation. I would guess that most residential accounts do not have static IP's but only a small number of folks are having a problem with this issue.

It's a bit of a mystery exactly how DirecTV Stream determines your "home" location. We know that the internet IP address initially assigned is one of the key methods. And if that doesn't change too often (how often isn't clear), then you're OK.
