Stream Box Issues
Just received my Living Room replacement box to replace defective box with same exact issues happening again. Have a 2 year old high end 65" Samsung 4K TV. I have been trying to make a change in Settings on my DirecTV Stream box under Display Settings that show a toggle for Off/ON HDR. It defaults to OFF. After attempting to Turn to ON it states that my TV is capable to have this feature. Then when it asks to Restart it changes back to the OFF position. I have tried several times with old box and new replacement box and even used RED reset on side of box and will NOT work. I have a second box in Master and also with very good Samsung TV 4K, when it went thru the setup phase it auto switched to the HDR ON feature. Why cannot I get the main Living room box auto default to this feature of HDR?

Have you tried swapping the boxes to see if the issue goes with the box or TV?

Thanks for your suggestion. Although once you disconnect a box and reinstall on another TV I will loose all my loaded 8 apps that I will need to install and re-enter all passwords all over again which is a pain. I would think they would have solved this issue. In the past I used Roku 4k units on 4 TV's in the house. If I load one new app on one tv all TV's auto load with that new app or if I unplug you do not loose your apps.

I have 2 of the original boxes (from the BETA testing) and I have never had that 2 happen. I have move them many times to different sets over the years that has never happen. I do have to setup the remotes and the TV but that is all. Never heard of that happening.

Hello @globalnetproduct Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the HDR default setting. Please let us know are both of your smart tv's the same models?
Thank you @bcbsncj That is a very good suggestion and we agree that switching that boxes is the best next step to see if the same issue is happening with your other tv in order to clarify where the issue is coming into play, as far as your tv or the streaming box.
Let us know how this goes.

Unless part of your process to switch boxes between TVs includes pushing and holding the factory reset button for long enough to trigger the factory reset, the device should not lose any information by being switched to a different TV.
