HBO Max
Maybe I can get some help on here because I tried the chat and they just kept wanting me to add the service to my account when I already have the service. WIth my old account I had HBO Max added and always got all the HBO channels included with our AT&T unlimited Data plan. Are the channels still included when you have HBO Max or do you have to pay the 14.99 like they kept getting me to do. It would be stupid for me to pay 14.99 a month when I already have the service in my package.

What ‘old account?’ The channels should automatically be included with your DIRECTV STREAM and AT&T unlimited accounts. With this, you’ll enjoy the HBO channels on DIRECTV STREAM and the HBO MAX app itself.
Do the HBO channels not work on DIRECTV STREAM? What streaming device (s)?

If you have an HBO max membership outside of Directv Stream, HBO channels will not show in the guide. U have to get the HBO max sub thru Directv Stream. If you go to your account settings and it says "included in base package" but you don't see a charge for it and you never subscribed to it--that's a glitch. I've had that on my account for almost 2 months now and they still haven't fixed it.

Yes the channels disapeared from my DIrectv stream service yesterday. I went on the chat and they kept telling me I had to add the service for 14.99. I even sent them screen shots that it is already in my package and they told me yes you have HBO Max through your Unlimted Data plan. They didn't seem to understand what I was talking about like they where just reading what to do out of a book.

"Included in base package" That's a glitch. Is that what you are seeing under your account details / manage subscription at the Dtv Stream website? When I contacted their twitter support they thought I had it thru one of their ATT services. Nope.

The HBO Max subscription is through are AT&T unlimited data plan. So the channels are no longer included with Directv stream? You do have to pay extra?

Yes that is what I'm seeing in my account. One of the people on my chat said it would go away in a few days with no other explanation. I kept asking them if I still get the channels with our subscription and they said sure if you add it. I even asked them if they could remove it and the apply it again and they said yes for 14.99

Do you remember actually subscribing to HBO max? When I go to the att.com website there is an offer for HBO max at no charge on the upper right side of the screen. Not sure why b/c I thought the offer was for people with other ATT services. I haven't accepted the offer because I don't want to chance being signed up for a phone or something. lol. Not sure if adding it there/accepting that offer will also include seeing the channels in the guide. When I spoke to their twitter support last I heard on Aug 3rd --they were still working on getting "included in base package" removed from my account. I was thinking it would cause an issue if I ever want to sub to HBO max again. They have no idea why it's showing like that on my account. At first, they thought I had another ATT service.

@Ludwick577 having HBO MAX through AT&T Wireless does indeed allow you to watch the HBO channels through DIRECTV satellite and DIRECTV STREAM. I can confirm this because I always had this configuration.

I told them that I have always had the channels on my DIrectv stream since they started offering HBO Max but I talked to two people on the chat and they had no idea what I was talking about.

I finally got a answer. Since I cancelled my orignial account from back in 2016 when it had first started and At&t and Directv where joined they still honored the deal to get the HBO channels with your unlimited data plan. But since I now have a new account which I switched just to get the free unlimited DVR that now comes with it. The company's are seperate so you can still get HBO Max with the unlimited plan but not the channels. So if you still have your original account don't do like me and switch it just for the dvr because you will lose your HBO.

Same here. My husband and I paid for HBO channels with our ATT Uverse service. That gave me HBO max free by using my Roku device.
But get this, we dropped u-verse because of price. We got DTV streaming. Then I had to pay separate for HBO max. We thought we would get the channels back, but of course not!
They want more money, it's always about the money.
So here's the deal, if you pay for HBO channels, you get the HBO max account for free. But not vice versa.
And when you call, nobody knows anything. Typical lousy ATT service, as they've had for over 25 years.

So I have been dealing with this for a good part of this year. I few months ago I finally reached someone that actually knew about this and what I was talking about. We found issues with how my att services were set up and not linked so worked with digital support to align my account ID's, address and phone numbers to all be the same across my services and under one AT&T ID. I get HBO Max via wireless and also internet plans. Once my account ID's were aligned, the representaive confirmed that I have the HBO promotion and should sync with Directv stream as the accounts are now connected. The rep said once the accounts sync up, I should get an automatic credit each month for HBO on my directv stream account. This has not happened yet but the interactions are documented on my account so it's easier to explain to the next representative I contact The representatives have been gving me a manual credit the past two months. Hopefully it will work in the coming billing period.

Is this free HBO max offer only for people who sub to more than one ATT service. I thought that's what the requirement was, but I'm seeing an offer for free HBO max on the att.com website. Is the free sub the commercial free one, or?
