If my payment method fails, how long do I have to update it before my services are suspended?

Is this a change? Previously, I was told the grace period was 16 days. I have contacted DirecTV multiple times regarding changing my due date because when I changed jobs, I went from being paid weekly to being paid once a month. Was told there is no way to change the due date. A representative finally informed of the 16 day grace period and how to utilize it. This has been working for the past three years and suddenly, this month, my services was suspended. When did the policy change and why were customers not notified of this change prior to it going into effect?

I am also experiencing this issue...I was told it was 16 days. I am 3 days beyond my automated due date. My payment method failed because of fraudulent activity on my wifes card. 

I chatted in and tried to get a resolution, they say they have no options to assist.

Last information I can find is:

Let me share with you more details about the grace period. When your payment fails on the renewal date of your DIRECTV STREAM service, you'll have 15 days to correct/change the payment method before the subscription canceled on day 16. (Aug 10, 2022)
