Error code 205.23

I receive an error when entering my userid and password for Direct TV Internet service. The error code is care code 205.23. Screen says ‘looks like you didn’t finish registering this ID. Go to att.com to register it then try signing in again. Care code: 205.23.’ I’ve spoken with several service reps over the past few days and no one seems to have an answer. Tried resetting Gemini air device, resetting user ID and password. The profile in my account seems to be fine and it looks like I am registered. Any help out there?

Have you tried watching something on www.directv.com? If you can access your account and watch something then it sounds like an error with your device.  You mentioned a Gemini Air device.  Did you get it from Directv or a third-party seller like eBay, Amazon, etc...

I can stream on my IPad and phone. I have 3 air Gemini devices that came from Direct TV. I’ve tried resetting the devices to no avail.

Try changing your password on the Directv website under your account.

Follow-up on my inability to log into Direct TV streaming account. 

I have dealt with several tech service reps for 5 days now. Same troubleshooting process each time. Reset Gemini Air device. Reset userid and/or password on account yada yada. 

Last I dealt with a rep they said they couldn’t fix the login issue and would get back to me. I’m not holding my breath.

In the meantime I figured out a work around on the Gemini Air device. I have a TCL smart TV which is internet ready. I downloaded the Directv app and used the code on the screen to register the TV online through my IPad rather than login. If I try to login through the app I get the same error as using the Air Gemini device. On my other LG tv I used an Amazon Firestick to download the app and register the tv using the code displayed in the app rather than the login.

I have noticed that when I try to login to my account online and enter my userid and password I get an error that the server can’t be found. If I close the window and go back to the page it then takes me to my account. I believe there is a website and/or server issue with the login page. This issue first occurred for me Sept. 5.

After almost two weeks I get a call that Direct tv fixed the problem with my account. After a bit of back and forth about my userid the service manager admitted there was a server issue with my login accessing the account. Wonder if I can get a credit for two weeks of no service like the Disney fallout.

I’ll likely sign up for another streaming service once my contract with Direct TV is up.
