directv satellite and directv stream

If I already have directv satellite service and am under a contract, can I replace it with directv stream?  Or, can I add directv stream without having to pay for an additional account?

DirecTV Stream is a different paid subscription service than DirecTV satellite. There is no migration from either service to another.

I just subscribed to DirecTV Stream, set it up, and then cancelled Satellite service. All went well.

Unfortunately, there is a contract with DirecTV, so just cancelling is not possible without paying them a lot of money.  That's why I was hoping for some sort of consideration when moving to DTV Stream.

Sorry but you are correct.

Best thing might be to call them and see if there is anything they can do, probably not due to the contract, but you never know. They are two separate companies but owned by the same people.

You mean same company but 2 different paid subscription services. Think of it as YouTube Premium and YouTube TV.

I have had satellite tv for 6 years, no contract that I am aware of at this point.  thinking of switching to streaming since we are getting a new roof and do not want the satellite back on the roof, not an option to put it on a pole, too many trees in the line of sight. Thoughts?

@Ludwick577 yeah, guess I wasn't very clear, I want to switch from the satellite and go to streaming, we don't want the dish back on the new roof, is that doable?

Doable? What do you mean? It's just a streaming service being used by thousands. Have you visited the website to get familiar with the service, options, packages, add-ons, etc?
