Charging BEFORE the end of trial period

I just signed up for service this past Saturday and hooked everything up Sunday. Today, I get an email that I've been automatically charged for a month of service.

It seems that only in the world of DirecTV stream do things operate different than any other free trial where you're charged AFTER trial end date.

Completely unexpected!

I started my stream service on 4/19.  Amex immediately emailed me a notice that showed a $30 charge (?).  But when I checked on Amex the next day it showed up as a $1.00 charge, the typical "test" amount.  AT&T did not actually bill my card for the full amount until 4/27.  YMMV.
