Channel blacks out and buffers.

I’m new to directv stream. While watching tv channel blacks out and buffers them comes back on. I don’t have this problem with any other service. YouTube tv, Netflix, Hulu, HBO max all work just fine. 1000mpbs internet service so it’s not that. Any suggestions?

Using a Samsung Smart TV? Lots of issues with the app reported. No fixes available. Best to use an external streaming devices. 100's of post with the app. Do some searches for the Samsung to get a real picture of how inferior the app is with the device.

Let's get real....I didn't cut the cord so I could stream this Service and still need to purchase or rent proprietary equipment.

Everyone of us on this Streaming Service are "Cord Cutters".

Many of us bought into this Service because of the advancement in Smart TV's accompanied by the increased bandwidth from the ISP's.

The Service had some ups and downs in the previous years but they always manged to resolve the problems with the Apps. However, since DirecTV took over for AT&T the promises on resolving problems has been nothing bur Lip Service for the last 3 months.

As for the opening thread's question; There have been minor improvements since December 8th but nothing close to having an App they functions properly.

Same here and there was never one solution to the problem as it would happen with only DirecTV Stream. Netflix, Prime Video, Youtube and others had no problems.

Blackouts, freezing and channel back and forth to get picture back?!?!

Not acceptable. That's why I went with another service. Don't waste your time!

I stop by every once in a while to see if they may have fixed the issue but apparently they haven't or can't.

Today is March 10th, 2022

The current version of the DirecTV Stream App for Samsung TV's is: 3.27.31104

I noticed there have been at least 3 app updates in the last three weeks. The last update was two days ago and so far the streaming service hasn't puked like is used to...

I'm not seeing the lag or buffering but I notice the "Are you still watching" notification is more frequent and some of the HD channels don't seem to be as crisp as they should be.

A special note: I did have to reset my network after the last update. In my case I have FiOS and it entails turning off your Router and ONT from your provider for at least 30 minutes so when you turn the ONT (Optical Network Terminal) your provider should more than likely assign you a new IP Address. When you restart your Router, it will grab your new Gateway IP Address.

I also assigned a Port (Port forwarding of Virtual Server setting in your router) and assigned it to my TV's Network address. To do this you need to use a Static IP Network Address for your TV's.

They still haven't fixed the issue. Nothing more I can say but find another service.

I stopped by a friend's house and asked if I could try to login via my laptop to his TV and it seems that they have finally fixed the issue with streaming from a laptop to a TV via HDMI on chromium based browsers. Kudos but it's a touch late for me. Maybe I'll keep DirecTV Stream in mind when my current sub runs outs. Then again...... I have more channels and less $ with where I am now ;-)
