Can't sign up
I've talked to a few supervisors at this point, but no one can explain why I am not able to sign up.
I'm an AT&T fiber and wireless customer and have tried multiple credit cards, addresses, email addresses, it gives me an error every time. I've tried signing up in person at AT&T, over the phone, online.
DIRECTV charges the $30 but immediately refunds it back and shows an error.

What error do you receive when trying to sign up? Are you using a different email address from your AT&T account? There may be conflict when using the same email address as technically some account management or otherwise server work is routed through the att site.
Rather than signing up with a CSR, have you tried signing up online at directv.com? By what method are you being charged the one-time fee of $30 when you sign up?

"We were unable to validate your payment. Be sure you have entered your info correctly and try again. If the problem persists, please contact your card issuer."
Just tried again with another email address and a different visa bank card. Banks say none of these cards are blocked.

Still didn't work. Tried incognito tab, different mailing addresses, emails, credit cards.

Does your CC billing address match what you enter on the payment screen?

Someone posted on reddit having the same issue. Maybe they are having problems with signups.

Still can't sign up.
They are so bad. Time to plug the cable cord back in I guess.

Try signing up using a chrome browser (or firefox) incognito window/tab.

The part that is bad, in my opinion, is that there is no way to just buy a box and sign up, you have to go through the free trial screening process, which is probably overaggressive in blacklisting people for whatever reasons it finds.
I'll look into the BBB thing, thanks.
