Bait and switch
This is ridiculous. It took AT&T and Directv months to finally get their services installed for us and less than a month in, we get a message that they are increasing the rates. This is awful and sad. I expected more from them. I guess the bar needs to be lower.
so my question: is it worth staying or should I leave now?

All based on your needs and wants. If you can find another service that offer your requirements at a cheaper price then go for it. You can always come back.

If there was a contract, your pricing would likely be locked in for the duration of the contract (or at least would be governed by the contract). But the streaming services have all gone to contract free (month to month), meaning they can change prices at any time. In practice, DTV seems to change pricing once a year, in Feb/March, so you just were unlucky as to when you subscribed. The other streaming services generally do the same (increase once a year), though not necessarily at the same time. FWIW, the price increases are mostly driven by increases in their costs for content - for the most part, every time their carriage contract with one of the networks needs to be renewed, the network raises the price.
