Adding Bally Sports to a Community Directv Streaming Service

My Mom lives in an assisted living facility in Florida. The ALF has a community Directv Stream tv service for all the residents. We've been trying to add a Bally Sports Plus package to just my Mom's tv, which we've paid for. We're being told by Directv that my Mom needs to create an account with Directv in order to be able to the Bally Sports package.

I'm assuming creating a Directv account would require her to purchase the Directv Streaming service. This shouldn't be required since she already has Directv Stream.

I hope this makes enough sense that someone can provide some guidance. Thanks in advance

Sorry, that is how subscription services work. You would need a separate subscription which includes the Bally Sports package to receive the content. The best alternative would be for the ALF to upgrade to a package that offers the content.

I'm not sure if I stated my Mom's tv service situation clearly. She currently has directv stream on her tv which is provided by the facility. She purchased a Bally Sports Plus subscription for use on her tv. How does she link her Bally Sports subscription to the facility Directv Stream service? Thanks

It is not part of the service subscription. She would use the Bally Sports app to view the content using the subscription credentials.

I don't believe anyone here would be knowledgeable about the "community streaming service" (and that is likely true of the Support reps), so it is possible that it operates differently than the "normal" streaming service, though I have doubts.  The following applies to the normal service.

The issue is that Bally Sports (and other RSNs) are not a separate "sports" package add-on for the DirecTV streaming service, so there is no way to add it to a tier that doesn't include it.  As noted, if you subscribe to Bally Sports separately (Bally Sports+), you will need to use the Bally Sports app to access that service.  As best I can tell, the app is available on all the platforms that support DirecTV streaming, so if the community service uses one of those devices, it shouldn't be a problem to access it - the only issue is that the Bally Sports Sun and Florida wouldn't be embedded in the channel list, so it would be a little less convenient to use (and the content couldn't be recorded using the DVR).  On the other hand, the app would provide access to a lot more content, likely including past games.
